Braemar is participating in a recycle Bank program with AAA Trash Disposal. The idea is that the more you recycle, the more points you get toward coupons or gift cards.
Recycle Bank points are not calculated individually as you might think. They total recycling collected for Braemar is weighed, points calculated and divided by the number of registered participants in the Recycle Bank program. So the way I see it, the best way for us to maximize our Recycle Bank points is to recycle as if we were getting points for our individual participation, recycling everything we possibly can.
People are used to looking in their kitchen for cans, plastic water bottles and such to recycle. Here’s a list of some items you can recycle that often get overlooked in areas like your bathroom and office:
- Cardboard tubes left from an empty roll of paper towels or toilet paper
- Paper (not shiny or coated)
- Cardboard shipping boxes
- Plastic shopping bags
- Cardboard & plastic packaging from cosmetics, cotton swabs, baterry packages, etc.
- Used up deodorant containers
- Empty shampoo bottles
Another great idea to pump up our Recycle Bank points would be to collect cans and paper from our offices. It’s good for the environment and it’s good for our individual Recycle Banks to maximize our recycling efforts.
